Nature's Food.

When my grand daughter was about 4 years old and very much into the “Why” stage, she asked me one day “Grandpa, why does it rain?” The only way I could think of explaining it was that, when the plants on earth are hungry, nature makes it rain so that they can be fed and then be healthy. She accepted that (as most kids do when adults give explanations) and from then on was happy that the plants also had food.

Our responsibility as adults and custodians of our planet is to conserve that precious supply and put it to the best use possible.

It is just not sufficient to say “I don’t waste water” and then let perfectly re-usable water to go down the drain from our baths, basins, showers and washing machines. This water can be recycled to be used in your garden. Every time you pull the plug or your washing machine spews out water, this “Grey Water” (greywater) goes straight to your garden to feed your grass and plants.

How happy do you think nature would be to know we are all putting that life-giving commodity it gives to full use, not by only using it for our personal use, but also to feed the plants that it put there for our enjoyment.

I think it would!
